[41] FGtech Galletto 4 clone SE61-G SE61-GB: where to buy

投稿者: OBDexpress 投稿日:2017年 7月24日(月)11時02分52秒 209.160.43.106  通報   返信・引用

From what I can see, there are currently 3 different Chinese PCB versions of Galletto v54 !
? There is one, where there are 2 leds on the top of the galletto and there are two, where the leds are on both sides, where the connectors are located (power/bdm/obd)
OBDEXPRESS.CO.UK, sells two different versions of Galletto v54, from different manufacturers:
(note: on the site, the pictures for both items are the same, but the galletto version differs in the leds and package, please check below for correct details)
? Item No. SE61-G is the other version they sell, it comes in a brown box, has a power adapter for bench work, and has a green led, next to the power connector, and a red and yellow leds on the other side. This version is a little more expensive… Just a couple of euros… Maybe it’s because it has the power adapter also…
http://www.obdexpress.co.uk/wholesale/fgtech-galletto-4-master-bdm-tricore-obd-function.html
? Item No. SE61-GB is the one, that has red led next to the power connector, and a green and yellow leds, on the other side, and comes without power adapter and comes in a white box.
http://www.obdexpress.co.uk/wholesale/fgtech-galletto-4-master-new-bdm-tricore-obd-function.html
This is the version I have, and I have successfully tested it in several cars:

Audi A4 2.0 tdi 2008edc17cp14: dpf delete, eco/power map

have the one with red LED next to power jack. I gave tested on k line works fine, CAN works fine, tricore works fine. Not tested on bdm yet

Tricore 2010 audi a6: read OK

2005 Skoda octavia vrs: K line OK

GP read 1_3 MJT 75 hp: Twenty-six seconds to read. File 2 MB

BMW X6 3.0D 2008 EDC16: OBD read and write WORK

Citroen C3 Bosch EDC 16C34: Read and write all good
5 minutes total to write.

BMW 525 (E39): Read and write OK. Everything Good

BMW edc16c35: failed
then i have to recovery through bdm.

[39] Buy Foxwell NT510 scanner or VCDS

投稿者: elsa 投稿日:2016年 7月28日(木)12時06分38秒 209.160.43.106  通報   返信・引用

Foxwell NT510 is a multi-brand tool (covers AU FORD, BMW, Chrysler, Fiat, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Holden, Land Rover, OPEL, Toyota and VAG). It is packed with no car software, you are supposed to register and download one manufacturer software for free on the official site foxwelltech.com, and buy additional manufacture packages also via the Foxwelltech site, $60 for each manufacture package. Update is free for 18 months on foxwelltech site after the end-user registers the tool with Foxwell.

Generally speaking, Foxwell NT510 actually has pretty much the same capabilities as VCDS.
Compatible with VW/Audi from 1990
Compatible with the latest UDS protocol
Compatible with global OBDII/EOBD
Works on most systems
Reads and clear codes and turns off MILs
Requests and records live sensor data
Provides live data graphing
Merges graphs for easy and intuitive diagnosis
Displays freeze frame data
Performs most adaptations
Does active tests on systems and components*
Performs special functions, coding, security access*
Retrieves ECU information
Supports all 10 OBDII test modes
Resets oil service light
Sets inspection 1, 2 service interval
Sets (non) long life oil service
Sets inspection mileage
Deactivates and re-activates brake control system
Retracts calipers for brake pad replacement
Returns calipers to the original position
Initializes the wear indicator if new pads installed
Diagnoses EPB caliper functionality
Resets the brake pad thickness after AUDI A8 service
Code troubleshooters for faster and easier diagnosis
Multilingual menu options and code definitions
Memory card for data backup and software update
Large TFT color screen and menu-driven operations

2) Foxwell NT510 is a great option to carry in the trunk vs having to access a laptop for the vag-com cable.

For people without a $300+ vag cable, the Foxwell NT510 scan tool would be only $179 cheaper than the tablet and vagcom.

Where did I get Foxwell NT510 Multi-System Scanner from?
There are not only one shop online who will sell you Foxwell items.
Therefore it is always nice to have a company recommended that someone has experience with.
This is the people I bought my Foxwell Nt510 scanner from
www.foxwellshop.com
I'm sure they are not the most expensive and also not lowest price and but they did answer all of my emails in 24 hours and my order only took 7 working days to arrive. Their orders can be tracked online so you know where it is.

[38] (Solved)2001 GU Patrol (Y61) going into limp home mode

投稿者: elsa 投稿日:2016年 7月21日(木)10時53分8秒 209.160.43.106  通報   返信・引用

Below post starts with car model 2001 GU Patrol (Y61) symptom that car kept going into limp home mode, then recommended to have one Foxwell AutoMaster Pro NT624 scanner to solved. How this story goes? Go on reading following parts. Hope it helps.

Car model: 2001 GU Patrol (Y61) with a 4.8 lt petrol

Symptoms:
My car kept going into limp home mode and i could not drive it (well).

Scan Tool to use:
Foxwell AutoMaster Pro Series tools: Foxwell AutoMaster Pro NT624
foxwell automaster pro nt624

I use AutoMaster Pro NT624 to check ECU and read out fault code as below:
PO134 H02S1 (B1) ? Heated O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1
P1122 ETC FUNCTION/CRC ? Throttle Body Actuation -Electronic Traction Control
P1123 ETC Mot RLY/CRC ? Electronic Traction Control ? Motor Relay

After cleared the fault code, I got the left code:
P1122 ETC FUNCTION/CRC ? Throttle Body Actuation -Electronic Traction Control

Then I have a quick check of the live data for the Throttle Body motor, when graphed against the Throttle Position Sensor, revealed that the throttle body motor was in-fact intermittently faulty. Causing a correlation error -Throttle position sensor not accurately reflecting the a accelerator position sensor.

Then I decided to do a quick check on the fault code:

PO134 H02S1 (B1) ? Heated O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1

As this would take a drive cycle (potentially) to reset. We naviaged to the live data for the both O2 Sensors and graphed them together. With O2 Sensors, the general rule of thumb is to see them switch between rich and lean (0.1 -ish- and 0.9 -ish- Volts) around 8 times over 10 seconds at 2000 rpm. Watching each O2 sensor signal I counted the crosses (switching between 0.1 ? 0.9) and found that wile the bank 2 (rear) sensor was crossing around 5 times (a lazy sensor) the bank 1 (front) was struggling to make 3 crosses. Both sensors where more often on the lean side. So although not technically a current fault, I was suggested to also replace my O2 sensors as they are both currently lazy -one more so than the other- and likely to need replacement in the future.

[37] Diagnosing and coding BMW E31 E38 using Foxwell NT510 scanner

投稿者: elsa 投稿日:2016年 7月19日(火)10時32分43秒 209.160.43.106  通報   返信・引用

I found this Foxwell NT510 scanner chart that shows the specific function per BMW model which is helpful. foxwellshop has NT510 scanner for $179, but I found it on ECS for $199. Seems pretty reasonable for all the readout capability and the coding it claims. Plus you can buy additional software (only $70USD) for one of other manufacturers (Including AU FORD, BMW, Chrysler, Fiat, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Holden, Land Rover, OPEL, Toyota and VAG) as well. One another thing to consider about this tool is that the software updates for it are free for the first 18 months only, and after that only the cost of updates is only 60USD.

I have to use for my BMW E31 and E38. I can speak to ease of use and functionality.

As you can see below chart is Foxwell NT510 Scanner workable function on BMW E31.

bmw-e31-hart-foxwell-nt510

BMW-E3-foxwell-nt510

Here I list some I tested for your reference.

BMW E31 especially early are going to be very limited on features. This isn't due to the tools or software used, it's just the DMEs don't have the echo commands to provide all the detailed data.

Electronic parking brake reset, SRS reset, and service intervals are the "big 3" packages that our tool has.

As for coding injectors after replacement with Foxwell NT510, it's an accessible option in the menu list... I haven't tried it because my injectors are fine but there's a long list of menus in fuel injection you can mess with. Injector replacement and adaptations were in there and you could access it.

Foxwell NT510 can read out manufacturer specific codes. Most handheld tuners that will also pull codes only pull the basic P codes, not your BMW specific code lines. Now don't get me wrong P codes are very useful, they'll send you down the right path (most of the time), but manufacturer specific codes are going to tell you what door to open.

Foxwell unit is a standalone tool, no need for a laptop, this can be a positive or negative depending on the style tool you like to use. If you're use to a GUI interface on a laptop going to a scan tool style interface will take some getting use to.

Going by a quick look once Foxwell releases the coding update the tools look to have very similar functions. Also no VIN lock on the foxwelll scan tool, use it on as many cars as you'd like.

In conclusion:

Foxwellshop extended us an evaluation copy of this unit and I was really impressed with it. The various functions remind me of the vaunted VAG-COM system we've used in Volkswagen & Audi for years. Such a simple and affordable scanner is really a plus for this platform.

[36] Coding BMW E70 using Foxwell NT510 scan and coding tool (Feedback)

投稿者: elsa 投稿日:2016年 7月18日(月)16時33分6秒 209.160.43.106  通報   返信・引用

I just received one Foxwell NT510 scan and coding tool today, I am working my way through this scan tool and so far I have been relatively impressed.

Played around on my BMW E70 for a bit, covers ABS, Airbag, Electronic Parking Brake, some EWS/CAS, Active Suspension, Service Resets for $179.

ON my E70 I have use Foxwell NT510 codes all sorts of convenience features for things like door locks, windows, tailgate and lighting.

Moreover, OBDII for more than just BMW protocol along with BMW specialized/proprietary codes and Bi-directional control for many modules and systems in the vehicle for testing and troubleshooting purposes. Everything from rolling windows up and down, turning lights on and off and controlling the HVAC/IHKA. Also Live data from many of the subsystems in the vehicle, so switch inputs can be monitored and on newer vehicles with a true TPMS with individual wheel sensors you can see the tire pressure.

Foxwell NT510 can be updated to include AU FORD, BMW, Chrysler, Fiat, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Holden, Land Rover, OPEL, Toyota and VAG for approximately $70 for one brand. These updates are manufacturer specific.

http://www.foxwellshop.com/wholesale/software-authorization-for-nt510-multi-system-scanner.html

nt510-multi-system-scanner-new-1

With a tool like the Foxwell NT510 Scanner for BMW, all you need to do is keep and interface in the car and you will always have at least an OBDII tool at hand when out on the road.

So for around $179 USD, the Foxwell tool looks very promising. There is always newer update that is supposed to offer more coding capability as well. Unclear what coding capabilities will be released, not sure if it is more personalization of modules and lighting changes or something more in depth.

[35] How 04 BMW E46 325xi do DIY diagnose using Foxwell NT510 scanner

投稿者: elsa 投稿日:2016年 7月16日(土)12時40分24秒 209.160.43.106  通報   返信・引用

Below post starts with BMW 2004 BMW 3 series E46 325xi need a simply handheld diagnostic tool to diagnose any potential issues (used by DIYer), then Foxwell Multi-system NT510 scanner is used, how it step - by - step to do, reading following parts for details.

Car model and year:

2004 BMW 3 series E46 325xi_M54_SAL USA_LHD

with miles 190K on the dashboard.

I want a diagnostic scanner to do:

I wanted to be able to diagnose any potential issues on the fly and do as many DIY fixes myself as possible.

I'm not the type of person looking for a tool in order to code or dive into the vehicle ECU.

This diagnostic scanner to use:

Handheld Foxwell NT510 multi-system scanner (No need additional computer)

The price point for this item was just right $179 free shipping and according to foxwellshop.com, I am allowed to add manufacturers to the device in the near future (i.e.; AU FORD, BMW, Chrysler, Fiat, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Holden, Land Rover, OPEL, Toyota and VAG) and the price is only $70 for each manufacture.

Foxwell NT510 scanner comes with following items:

1*NT510 Multi-System Scan Tool

1*User Guide

1*Memory Card

1*USB Cable

1*CD Software

1*Nylon Carry Pouch

Step - by -step procedure:

At begining, I plugged into the OBDII port (The unit will power-up as soon as it's plugged in) then the start-up screen show as below, I got four options:

1) OBDII

2) Manufacturer Specific

3) Setup or Settings

4) Playback for previously saved data

The device is handheld so easy to use and set-up is pretty self explanatory. I use the arrow buttons and enter/back buttons to cycle through the scanner.

foxwell-nt510-diagnose-bmw-e46-01

Select the OBDII function, it'll immediately have an auto-scan of your vehicle for any DTC. As you can see below, my scan came back with no codes found.

foxwell-nt510-diagnose-bmw-e46-02

After Foxwell NT510 scanner finish the scan and you press OK, it'll take you to the 'Diagnostic Menu'. Here you will be able to view in-depth descriptions of any codes that may have popped up and save and/or erase them.

foxwell nt510 diagnose-bmw-e46-03

If you select the vehicle specific option, you will cycle though a handful of menus until you come to your correct make & model, e.g BMW 3 series E46, 325xi_M54_SAL, version: USA_LHD, Model year:2003-09

Below are Foxwell NT510 Multi-System Scanner feedback collections on the specific BMW & Mini models and year. Foxwell NT510 Scanner is well-known for its diagnostic and programming function on BMW & Mini models. Hope this post helps.

Update:

Updates are free for 18 months after the end users registers the tool with Foxwell. Currently the updates after that are available via the Foxwell portal for $60

Additional manufacture packages:

Foxwell NT510 is a multi-car tool (many manufacturers listed in the manual). It is packed with no car software, you are supposed to register and download one software for free via the official site foxwelltech.com, and buy additional manufacture packages also via the Foxwelltech site.

Foxwell NT510 scanner test report OK experience:

- The included software is not native to Mac computers.

- win10 is compatible.

- Can can provide sensor data from the oil level system on an F82 M4, The M4 apparently can only read the oil level with the iDrive, which we plan on permanently removing for non-street use.

- Allow me to alignment and calibrate fuel injectors on a 2009 535i N54 engine

- Can read codes from a transmission control unit (TCU) on a 2003 e46 325xi.

- Can register a battery to an e90 328i.

- I have a 2007 328i Coupe, NT510 can determine which wheel speed sensor is bad.

- NT510 can read and reset airbag service light. I have an intermittent airbag service light on a 2004 X3 that BMW service cannot track down as it clears from memory before I can get it in for service.

- Have the ability on the 09 BMW E82 135 to scan for ghost codes, and any other stored codes. For example, example it will read codes that you did not get a scanner connected fast enough while the check engine light was on and it goes off before you know what the code actually was.

-Can code new injectors in the BMW 2010 335i.

-Can Re-program the Speed Governor on 2011 e90 328i LCI model, vin WBAPH7C52BE852716...please note: Performance software is required to manipulate top speed limiters.

-Can perform a throttle actuator adaptation on an e92 M3 after replacment

- Is capable of functioning as a universal OBDII reader for all makes in addition to it's BMW/Mini/RR Specific functions.

- Can work with a 2012 mini cooper countryman s all 4.

- Have E36 OBD1, for OBD1 cars will require adapter ES2992111 to perform function, Available features will be dependent upon the cars abilities. Not all features are compatible with all models.

-Communicates via the obdII plug in the cabin on the E39 M5 2000, no extra adapters needed.

- Whether NT510 can read TPMS codes or not (Specifically to tell which TPMS receiver is malfunctioning), it depends on the vehicle,If your car has the ability to provide this information the tool will be able to pull this data.

- can read and reset O2 sensor readiness codes but will not code them off permanently.

- Updates can be skipped; sequential installation of updates is not required.

- Can reset "Right/Left Cornering light" warnings on 2011 335d caused by after-market halo installation. To properly clear the error code you need halos with proper resistance, this will cause the car's computer to automatically reset the warnings.

- I own a 2011 335i N55. all functions are supported across the E93 series.

- Able to reset the (sas) steering angle sensor

- Ok to reset the Airbag/seatbelt light on Mini Cooper S R56.

- Ok to modulate the e-parking brake on a 2012 BMW F10 to enable a rear brake job with rotor replacement.

- Module recoding and programing is possible with this tool.

- Availability of features of this nature will vary heavily model to model and year to year.

-  Can register new tire pressure monitoring sensors.

- Can do VANOS test, Idle Sync etc for e46 m3.

-Can activate the abs unit in order to bleed it on a 2008-011 m3.

- Can do battery registrations and coding on BMW and mini cooper.

- Be able to code a new battery on 08-2011 M3's.

- To make NT510 is compatible with the early E36 (The car has ads modules for Abs and srs), need the 20 pin adapter ES2992111.

- Can reset the adaptations needed after an e46 m3 smg clutch change.

- Allow for line code changes when programming car options, such as automatic door locking.

- Enable auto rear window defogger for GM5 module on BMW E46. E46 general module coding is possible.

- Can perform the dynamic drive reset for a 2002 745.

- Reset the transfer case oil wear indicator on BMW e83.

- Be able to display the sensor's output if this function is registered by the car's dme.

- Can pull codes from the SRS system and reset the light once all issues are corrected-

- Able to reset transfer case adaptations after transfer case fluid change in an F32.

- Allow coding of the LCM and GM on BMW vehicles.

- Have the ability to program new ABS components to current vehicle.

- Can code for Xenon headlight conversions and also for activating *Sirius Retrofit Enable Code (FSC)* for Mini Cooper R56's, but only some models not all.

- Can read BMW Specific (Shadow/Hidden Codes)

- Can code injectors and new battery on 2008 BMW 135i.

NT510 scanner test report Fail experience::

- NT510 scanner cannot remove the top rpm limiter on a bmw z4m roadster 2007, performance tuning software is required to remove top speed limiters.

- Can't retract the calipers on a 2005 BMW x5 4.4i e53.  The E53 does not have electronically controlled calipers. On the E53 you'll manually compress the pistons after removing the caliper, please see the following tools to assist you with this task, ES8211 ES9747 ES2153340

Where to buy Foxwell NT510 Multi-System Scanner?

Make sure buy from a authorized Foxwell dealer with good quality device and fine after-sales service, more importantly able to register at official site foxwelltech.com. FYI, I bought from the dealer www.foxwellshop.com, the customer service is helpful when I have any issue, they response quickly.
